Fabric Bliss Blog has MOVED!!!!!

You can take the IT out of the girl....

I am moving to Wordpress!  Yeah yeah, I am a nerd.  I was missing picking through SQL statements, so I started hacking Wordpress PHP files instead.

*sigh*

Enough with the nerdyness - come find me at my new location called Blogging from Bliss!  I know I have some followers on this blog (ps I love you), so I have tried to make it VERY convenient for you to CONTINUE to follow me by simply clicking on my new rss subscribe feed.  I'll even throw in a bribe to subscribe by mentioning the GIVEAWAYS we will start doing next year!

Nothing works like a good bribe. Here is a picture of a cute sleeping baby to top off the deal:

See ya on the Wordpress side!

30% More Fabric; 30% Less Hair

Hm.  Maybe it's like 50% less hair.

Dunno why - I think it is all the change in the air around here.  Felt like I needed one, too. :)

Now my neck is cold.  Guess I better knit a new scarf!  DARN!!!!

Blissmas Day Scheming

Man.  I have had radio silence for awhile now.  I have TOTALLY been busy scheming like crazy.  I have to say the poem was my favorite (click here to read it in all its glory).  Sy wrote it (and I laughed 'till I cried) late Wednesday night after a glass of wine and WAY too much hacking of our shopping cart.

I love it when we can be creative together.

I also love it when our customers give us SO much support that we are totally able to expand our inventory!  By 30% no less!  WHOOPIE!

I have been ordering fabric and yarn and needles and embroidery thread and shelving and everything else under the sun like a madwoman.  I can not WAIT until December 17th.  We are staying late overnight on the 16th to transform the shop, and it is gonna be AWESOME.  See, told ya the UPS guy is Santa:

Don't forget to stop by on the 17th for our all-day Blissmas party, and drool with me over the new wares.  Cookies.  Brownies.  Cider.  Snacks.  Treats.  All homemade.  Well, except for whatever I bring; that will be from Safeway since I am not allowed in my kitchen due to the fire hazard.

This has been quite a ride so far, and I am so thankful I get to do what I love.  I appreciate all of you and your support so terribly much I could burst.  I'll hug you all on the 17th. :)

Not. At. Work.

Well, this is new.

The shop was open today. With classes, too. Wanna see what I did?

I actually had my very first lazy day. I even got to spend an actual day off with my husband. Perfecting my sniper headshot. Ah!

Big thanks to Kristina for manning Bliss for me today. And I only called to check on my baby once. ;)

Prayer Shawl

The mother of my dearest friend lost her husband last week.  My heart just ACHED for her.  I could not even imagine living without the love of my life. All I wanted to do was gather her up and give her the biggest hug she has ever received.

But, she lives out of state.  So, I KNIT her a hug.

I held her in my thoughts as I made this prayer shawl, weaving in little prayers of peace into each stitch. I know it can never replace the love now missing from her heart, but I hope that it will give her comfort, and remind her that she will ALWAYS have my love.

OK, Tatting is WAY Awesome.

So I met Laura when she brought in her amazing tatted earrings to sell, and of course, being the shopping addict I am, I bought myself a pair IMMEDIATELY:

MAN I love them!  So then I tell her that she NEEEEDS to teach a class so all of us crafting addicts can learn.  Like we need ANOTHER hobby.  But we DO!

So, Laura agreed, and she came in for a dry-run of the class the other day, and taught me!

LOOK WHAT I MADE WITH MY VERY OWN TWO HANDS:

Yup.  I'm addicted.  She taught me the basics of reading patterns too, so now I can do snowflakes for my Christmas tree out of - wait for it - SOCK YARN.

We have tons of colors of the crochet thread this is made out of, and the needle set we use comes with the sizes to use crochet thread (traditional) AND sock yarn for you yarnies out there hoarding it!!

Oh man, today REALLY should have been a snow day so I could sit at home on the couch, watch the snow come down, drink 7 cups of coffee, and TAT.

Thanks, CDOT, for ruining my snow day.

Creative Focus Wooooool

Here is the Rowan pattern book called City Retreat.  It's RAD.

Now that I am obsessed with long long necklaces, I need a big oversized boyfriend sweater to wear them with:

Man, could I pull off fringe? Who cares - I'm making this:

Super cute short sleeve hoodie.  I am a hoodie junkie, so this is SO on the list.

And this. This!!! I am so SO into the blouses with billowy sleeves, and this little poncho with SLEEVES is just to DIE for:

Yeah, I am in trouble.

I've put the yarn and the books on the shelf, and BACKED AWAY.   I only stop sitting on my hands to type. ;)
