7AM and the Glue Gun is HOT!

It's moving day!

And it's snowing.

Not a complete bummer - I've moved during a blizzard or 2 living in Colorado all my life. But today is the day we move all of the precious Ikea over to the shop, so I'll be cussing at tarps all day. Save The Ikea!  PS - I drove by the one on County Line Road yesterday. I got chills. Open Open Open!

I did manage to finish up a few DIY projects for the shop.  I want everything to look amazing, but of course, am on a budget, so here are a few projects I did on my own to make myself look super fancy. Please pardon the iPhone photos - I'm in a hurry, people.

Found this sweet cake stand tutorial, and thought it would be PERFECT to display jewelry, bags, and other handmade lovelies that will be going up in the boutique.  I made mine quite a bit less fancy in my lack of time. This one still needs its coat of white spray-paint, but it took me a good 10 minutes to put together - that's it! The top and bottom are from Hobby Lobby, the middle section is from Home Depot.

Now, I am all about having super awesome window displays, but I am also aware I won't have much time to spend on the very first one, so I am making a bunch of these huge tissue paper pom poms courtesy of Martha Stewart.  They will look sweet surrounding the Emmaline apron on a dress form!

Lastly, I wanted a nice, clean, boutiquey feel with some large yellow drum shades hanging in the shop.  So I found some plain ones online for $29, then used some fabric spray and a hot glue gun and WAH-LA! Custom daffodil lamp shades! Can't wait to hang these guys up!

Seriously, is this my life? I get up at 6AM just to have the hot glue gun warm by 7? No databases to bounce? No ASM disk migrations? People, I can dig it!
